Leadership Team

Carolyn Madson

Carolyn Madson

Founder & Executive Director

Carolyn’s roots run deep in California, where she was raised on her family’s fifth-generation cattle ranch, steeped in the Central Coast's unique food culture. After working across three continents in biotechnology and sustainability, she returned home and created Landfed: a shared vision of using technology to guide us back to the land. For Carolyn, eating is an intimate act of nourishment and connection with Mother Earth. She leads Landfed to champion independent family ranches, total transparency, and food grown in harmony with living ecosystems.

Marti Gianolini

Marti Gianolini

Founder & Managing Director

Ranching has shaped Marti’s life from the start—from trailing cattle across California hillsides and competing in rodeo, to growing up in a family dedicated to cooking and feeding neighbors. Having worked across many corners of the livestock industry, she co-founded Landfed to offer food she can stand behind completely: rooted in animal health, deep stewardship, and time-honored traditions made new through higher standards. At Landfed, Marti is carrying forward generations of knowledge while connecting members to the purest food the land can provide.
